... i am actually in the same situation though i
am trying to change the default setting to:
'YYYY:MM:DD:HH24:MI:SS'
...as you say i cannot use "ALTER SESSION"
as that only changes the particular session.
additionally i have putting it in init$sys.ora
which doesn't seem to work, nor will setting
the environmental var.
any suggestions or guidance would be
supremely appreciated!
